Hakob Arshakyan is the Minister of High Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia.
Being an active role player in socio-political life of Armenia, Hakob Arshakyan was tasked with the key mission to lead Armenia’s Technological Revolution after the Velvet Revolution in the country in 2018. One of the realized aspirations of the Minister is the transformation of the RA Ministry of Transport, Communication and IT to RA Ministry of Hi-Tech Industry with the view of having concentrated action on Armenia Digital Transformation Agenda, including promoting adoption and integration of digital disruptive technologies in economic sectors, as well as spurring the Armenian engineering and start-up ecosystem.
Hakob Arshakyan holds Master’s degree in Computer Systems from Armenian National Polytechnic University. His professional career has commenced in National Instruments, a multinational engineering company, where he has been leading a Regional Partner Program in the Emerging Markets, such as India, Russia and CIS, the Arab countries and Africa.
Capitalizing on this experience, Hakob Arshakyan successfully founded also his engineering and database acceleration start-ups, where he leaded the business and market development domains.
